We brought you these animations in an earlier post. Here are the evening scenes as imagined by modern animation artists.
The "Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival" is an ancient Chinese painting painted during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 to 1279). It gave insights into urban and rural life at the Song Dynasty. Judging from the characters and their activities, the original painting was presenting activities during daytime. What about activities in the evening? Modern animation artists and historians seek traces of information and evidence in books and records and created the evening animations from their imagination.

It was believed that the crime rate at the Northern Song Dynasty was relatively low. Citizens were safe at night. They would often go to restaurants and "bars" to share their viewpoints and comments on literature and poems. (See also: the Day scenes)
