Hong Kong Heritage Museum

A Museum for history, art and cultural exhibition all-in-one, the Hong Kong Heritage Museum in Sha Tin has plenty of floor space for permanent and temporary exhibitions.

The six permanent exhibition galleries display the museum's collections and the six thematic galleries cater temporary exhibitions.

Out of the six permanent exhibition galleries, the Cantonese Opera Heritage Hall is worth a visit. It provides insights into the history, practices, as well as showcasing dressed-up Cantonese Opera manikin on stage.

Cantonese opera usually play stories of historic icons, hero, emperors and beauties. The characters are usually either good or evil that are clearly expressed on their clothing and make up.

The other exhibition galleries at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum might be of interests of other visitors. The Museum often host interesting temporary exhibition, including: Pixar: 25 Years of Animation, Hong Kong International Poster Triennial, Hong Kong Creative Ecologies Show and Highlights of Yu Kai's Donation.

However, I would highly recommend the Hong Kong Museum of History to those wish to explore the history of Hong Kong; and the Hong Kong Museum of Art to traditional Chinese Art lovers.
